About Caféconexión

CaféConexión was born out of my deep love and passion for learning the Spanish language—some might even call it an obsession. I’ve been learning Spanish for over 10 years, and what continues to inspire me is that there’s always more to discover, improve, and connect with every time I listen or speak the language.
Through my journey, I realized that while many people can read and write in Spanish, they often struggle the most when it comes time to actually speak and listen. Yet, I would argue that these are the skills that matter MOST in real life—whether it’s ordering food, making friends, or studying abroad.
This is why I created CaféConexión: a space designed to help people go beyond the textbooks and truly strengthen their listening and speaking skills. Here, the focus is on building confidence and connection so that Spanish becomes a natural part of your everyday life.
About the Founder

I began learning Spanish at 17, originally with the simple goal of completing the two required high school classes. But everything changed after a cruise out of Miami, where I met a girl from Medellín, Colombia. Wanting to truly communicate with her inspired me to take Spanish seriously.
At 18, I traveled to Colombia and quickly realized that my high school classes hadn’t prepared me to truly speak or listen in Spanish. This led me to dedicate myself to studying intensely throughout my time in undergraduate and graduate school as well as went on to study abroad a total of 2 years in Spain.
Through this journey, I experienced firsthand the struggles that second language learners face—the frustration of knowing grammar but freezing in real conversation, and the challenge of truly expressing yourself. Because of this, I made it my mission to help others like me strengthen their Spanish skills so they can confidently use the language in both their personal and professional lives.
I believe the most effective learning happens through real-life, meaningful conversations that spark interest and connection. I believe that we learn what we want to learn. :)
When I’m not working on CaféConexión, you can usually find me playing pickleball, traveling to Spanish-speaking countries, or dancing bachata and salsa.
